We had a wonderful stay at Awen Cottage – fireplace made it especially cozy and relaxing. The host was incredibly friendly and thoughtful – left us a lovely welcome gift on arrival. House had everything we needed, location was perfect – right in the town centre, walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants. We highly recommend this cottage and would happily stay here again.

We spent a long weekend at Awen Cottage. Lovely period features, Sarah provided a really thoughtful welcome pack and we loved the firm beds. Close to everything in town. Being on the highway the traffic noise was a slight issue but I am a light sleeper. Would highly recommend.

This cottage is a delightful place from which to explore Tenterfield and surrounds. If you’re a bit of a bird nerd you’ll love the opportunity to watch the wrens and count the parrots from the back yard.

A lovely place to stay. Very well appointed, supplied everything we could need. Even though on the main street, traffic noise was not an issue. Pub just over the road. Owner very responsive via email. We highly recommend Awen Cottage and Sarah.

We stayed a few nights in Sarah’s lovely home in Tenterfield on our way home from Xmas in Qld. It’s very clean and comfortable, feels like a piece of history and well located to enjoy the amenities of the town. Sara was easy to communicate with, gave some great tips for things to do, and provided some appreciated items for our breakfast! Thanks Sarah!

We thoroughly enjoyed our mini getaway at Awen Cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated, is warmly inviting, comfortable and has a very peaceful and tranquil vibe. Needless to say unwinding and relaxing came very easily. Although I found everything to be delightful, I would say the highlight for this Queenslander was the beautiful fireplace which warms the whole house. The location is great too with easy walking access to the Main Street shops and the local tavern is just across the road. Sarah is very friendly and welcoming and ensured that our stay was very comfortable.

We came to stay at Awen Cottage so we could explore the history of Tenterfield, being the founding place of our country. It was full of history. Awen Cottage shows part of that history, decorated beautifully. Awen Cottage is cozy and really comfortable, super clean and tidy. The gardens are starting to show signs of spring. There are so many birds around. Two bavy magpies came up close while we sate peacefully out in the sunny porch area. Sarah had it perfectly set up for us. Being on the main road meant it was convenient and easy to find. There is some noise with the trucks that go through town. Overall, it was a peaceful place to have an escape from our world. Look forward to going again.

Wow, we loved this place! We will be back for sure. The location was perfect, very easy to get around as it’s walking distance to the centre of town and restaurants. Sarah’s place is great, very clean and has everything you need. Sarah was very helpful since the begging, available at all times whenever I had any questions. Totally recommend it.

Our stay at Awen Cottage was an absolute pleasure from the moment we crossed the threshold into a space that exudes an energy of peace and claiming. One steps into a bygone era – beautifully decorated in a traditional style which is comfortable and welcoming. Sitting by the fireplace with a book and glass of wine of wine was a very relaxing. An adjustment of airflow and top up of wood before retiring provided a warm environment in the morning. Sarah is a friendly host who ensured our stay was special. Across the road is the Tenterfield Tavern which has good food and a great menu. A short walk brings you to the main shopping strip and its beautiful shops. There are many nearby attractions, one being Boonoo Boonoo Waterfall which is a short drive from Awen Cottage and is a lovely place for a picnic. We look forward to returning soon; hopefully for a longer stay.

What a beautiful cosy property Sarah has an offer. All the amenities you could ask for and more – and a fireplace which I love! Check in was a breeze and the location perfect.
